Six Steps to Goal Setting If you do not currently have an active goal setting and achieving program, we suggest you follow the following six steps. 1. Write 10 goals that would improve your life and will be accomplished over the next year. 2. Write the goals in present tense, as if you had achieved it. 3. Write the goal as a positive statement—”I will…..vs. “I will not……… 4. Make it personal—”I (action verb)…… 5. Keep the list in a location where it can be referred to regularly. 6. Review your progress after one year. Many other steps could be added to this process. By writing your goals, you are among less than 10% of Australians who have written goals. Just by doing the above you will be amazed at the results you achieve within the year. You can enhance your goal setting program for even greater success, but this is a start.
