Preserving Intellectual Assets can have a dramatic impact on future generations. Countless are the stories of a person's life being changed by experience of an ancestor. But it is so difficult to make time to prepare a personal history.
Make it easier.
Instead of trying to develop your personal history from your childhood to the current time in your life, develop your history by writing about “defining moments...special events in your life that have left a lasting impression on you.” These defining moments may have to do with growing up, your school years, a summer job, the start of your family, or your career. Write a story, from 2-5 pages in length telling about the event. As you continue to develop these short stories, eventually you will have a lengthy book that provides informative insights into who you are.
